Take the latest knowledge of future technologies over and come to study the Vocational Qualification in Mechanical Engineering and Production Technology in English. This training will equip you with specific skills as a mechanical fitter, enabling you to work on a wide range of tasks and projects in the technology sector. You will also learn basic skills in welding, plate work and automation technology. You can work, for example, on the assembly and installation of forestry and agricultural machinery, mining vehicles, power plant equipment and automation systems. You can assemble, install, maintain, test and ensure the functionality of machinery and equipment.
The Iisalmi region has a significant technology sector, including traditional machine workshop industry, internationally well-known large companies specializing in exports and many SMEs (small and medium enterprises). Studying mechanical fitting in English will increase your opportunities in the technology sector and give you more scope for self-fulfilment. The training also includes learning Finnish language and culture to support employment in Finnish companies.
You accomplish the qualification or the parts of the qualification according to your personal competence development plan (PCDP). The training includes on-the-job-learning at a technology sector company, where you can also demonstrate your competence. The duration of the studying is 2-3 years.

DUOLINGO ENGLISH TEST
Every applicant needs to take the Duolingo English test and submit the result during applying. Minimum test score is 85. Please, take the test before applying, unless you already have an international Duolingo English certificate. We do not accept any other tests or qualifications as proof of language skills.
The Duolingo English Test is an online English proficiency test that can be taken in under an hour. The test is taken via a computer with a camera and microphone. The test includes a proficiency score, video interview and writing sample. Certified results are available within 48 hours of the test session. Other considerations
Students are provided with free breakfast and lunch in the school canteen, and we offer a student an accommodation in a shared flat for 200€ per month as initial housing. As your studies progress, we help you with further housing arrangements.
